The Bluebird CN7 Car was driven by Donald Campbell, who in 1964, driving this car at Lake Eyre, South Australia, broke the World Speed Record for a wheel driven vehicle. Campbell achieved a speed of 403.10 mph. The Car built in Coventry weighed 4 tons and was made from an aluminium honeycomb sandwich. The Car was powered by a Bristol Siddeley Proteus Gas Turbine Engine producing 4100 shaft hp at 11,000fpm
