Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner G-ZBJA British Airways   Representing the epitome of the 21st-century airliner, Boeing's state-of-the-art 787 Dreamliner joined the British Airways inventory in the summer of 2013 The airline currently operates a fleet of 30 Dreamliners, comprising 12 examples of the 787-8 base model and 18 lengthened and strengthened 787-9 variants. The airline also has ten even further-"stretched" 787-10s on order. Built at Boeing's Everett, Washington, factory, 787-8 G-ZBJA made its first flight on June 14, 2013 and was delivered to BA at Heathrow two weeks later. Powered by a pair of Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 high-bypass turbofan engines, it has since been operated on services to South America, Asia and the USA, and continues to provide sterling service for the airline.    This immaculate 1/133rd-scale model of G-ZBJA in cruising configuration (undercarriage up), hand-carved in sustainable kiln-dried South East Asian Mahogany, has a span of 45cm and a length of 43cm, and is beautifully finished in British Airways' distinctive "Chatham Dockyard" livery, designed for BA by the Admiral's Original Flag Loft in Chatham. Kent, introduced in June 1997. Based on the original flag used by Admiral Nelson in the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805, the scheme incorporates a stylish red, white and blue interpretation of the Union Flag on the fin, a white fuselage and dark blue undersides, crowned with an elegant blue and red flourish aft of the cockpit. The inscription on the base reads:    Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner  British Airways  G-BZJA
